About the MES PTA

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The Montclair PTA is a non-profit organization run by parent volunteers, teachers, and community members dedicated to supporting the students and staff of Montclair Elementary School. Its primary mission is to enrich the educational experience and foster a vibrant school community by funding programs and resources that are not covered by state and federal budgets.

Some of the key areas that the PTA's funds support include:

  • Academic and Student Programs: This includes classroom supplies, teacher support, the school library, and specialized programs like the garden and the 5th-grade overnight adventure.

  • Student and Staff Support: The PTA funds positions such as the African American Achievement Facilitator and an Interventionist, along with general academic and mental health support.

  • Community Events: The PTA organizes a variety of events throughout the year, such as the Welcome Back event, OtterWalk, and Family Movie Nights, to build a strong and connected school community.

The PTA also promotes inclusivity by actively working to address inequities and by funding its Community Engagement & Belonging Committee to support all families. It encourages community participation through initiatives like Hosted Parties, where families volunteer to host small events to raise funds, and by seeking corporate matching donations.

By providing these vital resources and organizing community-building events, the Montclair PTA plays a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching environment for all students.
